I checked into a Local traffic net last night and there was a piece of traffic headed in the direction of my QTH. They asked if I would like to try and pass the traffic and I said sure....No problem. I had been listening for a few weeks and picking up the general idea. I received the traffic with no problem; pre-amble, text and signature.
My question is that this piece of traffic contained a HXC code. I have been trying to google to determine how I am suppossed to properly report the date and TOD to the originating station. Is there a standard report code to use for this, or do I need to create a new radiogram to the originating station? The latter doesn't seem like the logical answer as in my mind, it seems logical that there would be a standardized way of responding to the originating station to report the delivery of the piece of traffic. Thanks for any advice. |

I think I might have figured it out now. Finally found a good website explaining the process. Looks like I need to prepare a piece of retunr traffic tot he originator of the message and Use ARL NTS code 47 including message number, targets name, and date and UTC time delivered.
Let me know if I am missing anything. I find the traffic handling interesting as it is an efficient way to send messages around the country if cell phones, landlines, etc. went out. |
