Okay, I'm up and running on HF - thanks for all the wisdom folks on ARFCOM have provided. IC-735 seems to be working well for a 25 year old radio. Fan dipole in the trees outside my house still needs a bit of tweaking, but I've got the SWR on 40 m down to about 1.2. Is there still ARFCOM net action going on? 7.213 at 0100 UTC? Anyone going to be on tonight?

Called CQ ARFCOM 40m several times, but heard nothing. Noise level in Indianapolis area about S9. We may have to try another time, PistolGuy.

Don't let it's age fool you. The 735's are great rigs...other than the silly plastic door. I've had 3 of them and they all performed well.
1.2 SWR is fine.
