So I'm on a work road trip to Phoenix, AZ. I decide to bring my VX-7R along and N9TAX slim jim.
I've been here for a few days, visited the HRO. Programed in a lot of repeater frequencies. But simplex is pretty cool to, so I'm sitting on .520 where the local youlkls seem to hang out. I know my ant. isn't the greatest, 2 floors up, not up on one of the really cool peaks around (Yeah, I know I climbed one yesterday, brought the radio and was so tired I forgot about it till I was halfway down!) Any way I left the room with the radio on 520, com back in and hear a QSO going on with the weaker station giving his QTH as Hawaii! Well I start to get all excited. Wow this is so amazing, I'll just jump in to see If I can get me a piece of this DX action. Then the first station comes in laughing 'cause several guys tried to call.... He had just rebroadcast...... Sigh got me Thought I'd share I was real stoked for a min. JB |
