Finally passed my General last night.  Did it one month after I passed my tech.  Now I am headed down to grandpas house to try and bum off anything he has that has been sitting in the closet for a long time.

I'm waiting for my call sign to show up.  I passed my tech and general last weekend.

They told me it would take 3 weeks to get my class upgrade into the system.  Now I am trying to find just the perfect call sign.  I am thinking K7ARF.

They told me 7-10 days, but then again, it's the .gov, so I'm taking it with a grain of salt.

In the meantime, this showed up at the house.

Sorry for the shitty pic.

I have two of the earlier FT-2800M's and a FT-1802M.  Work well.  I get good reports on the audio.

I need to figure out a way to mount it in my truck this weekend.  My antenna I ordered to go with it, is on backorder till the 19th of next month, so I'm going to borrow one, till it shows up.

Here's my truck mount. Behind the rear seat against the cab wall. 4-door Tacoma. Left is IC-2000H dedicated to APRS. Right is FT-8800 for voice.
