My vx6r came w/ a cradle charger.  Will leaving the radio sit in the charger (plugged in) hurt the batery or do anything other than just keep it charged and ready to go?

Thanks,

I am sure the experts will chime in, but from my radio control helicopter days, if I remember correctly lipo batteries (lithium polymer) do not like to be stored on a charger, it would be best to charge it and then take it out and use all the way until the battery icon flashes (they also like to be to discharged to a particular point before you recharge them).  They are a bit more finicky than other types of batteries but they sure do last a long time and are very compact.

it should be a "smart charger" which will shut off the charger when the battery hits full charge.

Thanks guys.  I'm hoping it is smart.  It has a status indicator to say whether its "full" or not, but I'm worried about frying the battery similar to what edjo talked about.  Anybody have definitive info?

my VX800 has a smart charger, so i would assume the rest of vertex's lineup has the same. if the battery is 90% or more it wont charge when you put it in the charger.
