| Can someone recommed a good decent priced SWR meter for a Ham Newb? I don't have to much experience yet but I am looking into a SWR meter. I don't need anything fancy but something that works and is understandable for a Newb. Thanks!! |

IF you find a swr or anything else see what other hams think about it on eham.. Oh yeah very familar with that site as well as QRZ lots of info out there been doing my research on all sorts of stuff. |

The old Drake W4 series, Swan WM/Siltronix, and Kenwood SW series are good meters. However, if you get a good used Bird, you'll never have to buy another meter. I don't disagree, but at least wait until you get your general and setup your first serious shack. |

There are a few that seem to spend all their time test driving every radio ever made, and trashing them. But overall, pretty good. |

But overall, pretty good. Yea I noticed that... You get like 10 great reviews in a row on something then someone comes in outa left field and trashes it giving the item a '1'.. It's almost like they are intentionally trying to make the overall rating of that item go down.. |
