| I want to make an email for my ham stuff. On bellsouth I can't figure out how to make an email.Help? |

If you're an ARRL member you can use [email protected] and redirect it to your existing Bellsouth account. That'll save you setting up a new one.
Not a BS customer so I can't help you outside of that. |

Log into your account at att.net. Then find the email link, there web page sucks. On the email account page there is a link to set up new emails accounts, I have up to ten I can use. I don't know what service your paying for. Write down the new email address and password you set up.
Set up your email program with the same setting as your old one, but use the new address and password. I hope this helps, GVS |

Nevermind, I was just trying to ask a question. ![]() w.t.f. ??? my initial thought when i read your top post ("I want to make an email for my ham stuff") was that you had some equipment to sell and you were trying to figure out how to send an email regarding what you had for sale. the next sentence, "On bellsouth I can't figure out how to make an email" simply verified that my thinking was correct. in other words, you stated the problem exactly –– namely, you don't know how to make [write] an email message describing what equipment you have for sale... now then, less than 40 minutes later you post again, noting that no one has responded to your initial email. during the summer you may have noticed that the ham forum has a lot less traffic. personally, i think it is unreasonable to expect that in less than 40 minutes someone is going to respond to your post –– especially since your post seemingly indicated you did not know how to create an email message. the answer to that question is extremely long. finally, you post a message of exasperation, disappointed that the forum would not help you. here is your help: http://www.google.com/search?q=bellsouth+create+email the answer to your question, now that we understand what it is, is within the first 5 search results. ar-jedi |

Really? You thought he was trying to sell stuff?
I figured out right away that he wanted a new email address to keep his radio stuff segregated. Seriously, I don't see how you thought he was trying to sell stuff or even further that it was confirmed...until it wasn't. Oh how I love the internet. |

thaks guys.I figured it out. I was trying to make an email account on bellsouth not for my radios for sale but for any people I contact on the radio can talk more on computer. OK, you have to explain stuff a little better to us old farts. Took me a while to figure out what you wanted, too. We can barely operate the intenets. It's a series of tubes, you know. Seriously, there is nothing easier than setting up a Yahoo email account. You don't have to have it as @yahoo.com. You can set it up to be something like [email protected]. I have several business email accounts set up through yahoo with my business name as the domain. Yahoo makes all that easy to do. Or as others said, contact your ISP. That's their job, that's what they do for a living. You tell them how you want it done, the password you want to use, etc. By the time you get off they phone they'll have it done for you. When you get your acct set up, go to www.qrz.com, get your page there set up. You can find it by typing your call sign into the Call Sign Search. You will have to set up an account at QRZ, user (your call sign) and password, you know the drill. Once that is done, click details, click edit. Now you can add a bio, photo, and your new ham radio email address. Once you have done all that, you no longer have to painstakingly give your email address over the air. Simply tell someone who may wish to contact you via email, "Just look me up on QRZed," or, "I'm listed on the Zed." And you will discover that eHam.net will magically have most of the same data on you. They borrow it off the QRZ site. You should also go to eHam.net, set up an account there, edit your page there adding your new ham email and photos. QSL? |
