finally got tech > Ham Radios

today at 10:30 I officialy gotmy technician license.I'm the youngest in my whole family to be a ham.
My callsign will be somewhere around KF5.I tried for general but got 15 wrong.

Don't give up on General. Get involved with a local club and find a mentor. Field Day is next month and a great time to get familiar with different radios.

Great news!! More and more people taking and passing tests. Don't give up on General....the best time to pass the test is now, while your brain is in study mode.

And about that General... OK, you missed a few questions... go back and study some more. You'll make it, you made Tech, huh? General is not much harder.

And I know of a 14 yr old GIRL who is an Extra. Even Girls can do it.

Yeah, she earned the Extra when she was 11 or so. I've heard her on the air.

Once had a guy, much higher in the company talking to us in a meeting about a particularly difficult upcoming job.

"Boys, if this was easy GIRLS could do it."

We had a number of female engineers in the meeting, too. But him being who he was, and funny/serious, they let it pass.

I use that phrase in a motivational manner.

I am not PC.

Congrats to both of you for the tech ticket.

I have heard that 14 y/o young lady on the radio also.

When I took my general, there was an 11 y/o testing for tech, unfortunatley, he did not pass.

I already got my first radio.my dad said if I passed the tech test I would get his yaesu 857.

Not sure about the club.Not va beach.I'm originally from farmville,central va. That's where my family is.
