we are so advised.

don't forget though, that with the changes to the licensing system (no more morse code etc), the maximum power limit for amateur radio operations has been reduced to 5W PEP.  so keep the power down and stay legal.  we'll listen real carefully for you.

1W is the new QRO, not the legal limit of 5W.  QRP is now 0.1W.

At a full 5 watts you will need to be real carefull about RF exposure! So you will need to run at least 500 ft of coax to a safe area of at least four square acres, fenced off, to run to that j-pole to comply with FCC & OSHA saftey regs

Also be advised, you must notify the FCC of your intent to install any form of antenna.

Did they do your background check yet?

You know, they can't have potential terrorists using the airwaves for evil purposes.

I hear alcohol gets the fingerprint ink off.  Kinda.  After a while it'll wear off.

And the RFID chip they put in your neck quits hurting in a few days.  Nothing to worry about.

Crap I also forgot...

You must notify your local FCC director each time you intend on TX'n.

RX doesn't require this, though it is recommended.
