The local public safety departments went digital a couple months ago so my Icom IC-R20 is pretty much quiet now . I've been shopping around for a digital scanner and the two I'm looking at are the Uniden BCD396T and the GRE PRS-500 digital scanners. I'm looking for feedback from owners of these scanners or other recommendations on digital scanners.

| Thanks Jazzemt for your reply. Well I've been doing some research on my local PS department radio upgrade and looks like they changed their freqs but didn't go digital - yet. I got the new freqs off the Radio Reference website. The local PS department radio system is being upgraded to Project 25 Standard. It's been a trucked system and I've been able to follow a bit but it is a bit confusing. Would getting a digital scanner really help stay with the radio calls? |
