I've looked over the Louisville and Southern Indiana freqs and the formats they will or are using for trunking. What I am having serious problems with right now is the "digital trunking" vs "trunking" and which protocols use what. Below are quotes and such from radio ref regarding Louisville. The S. Ind area might require one or more of the below. I've been looking at the radio shack pro-96 digital trunking, but there are other versions for 1/3 the price that aren't digital. If i don't need digital, I would rather not pay for it. Any guidence? Or am I just missing the point :) Thank you for any help!~ torin http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?ctid=1044 Louisville: By early 2007, Louisville metro officials hope to have a $71 million communications system -- called MetroSafe that will link police officers, firefighters, paramedics and dispatchers through an advanced system of radios and computers. The system will be a Motorola P25 system. http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?ctid=1044 Astro 25 LTR Standard Motorola Type I Motorola Type II Motorola Type II Smartnet Motorola Type Iii Hybrid EDACS Standard Project 25 Standard |

Right now any trunktracker model no matter how old will follow, Jeffersonville police and Louisville metro public works and buses. I do not know about the metrolink and its technology. Did you get your ticket yet? 3rd weekend of October @ IUS I BELIEVE. I will be there hopefully as a VE or bringing my fiend to test. Bob |
