eham.net has practice tests as well.

Now You're Talking is a good book, and the ARRL Ham Radio License Manual are both good and were available at my local library.

I don't know what was originally posted but my favorite test site is W8MHB.

As for reading materials I'm not a big fan of the Gordon West books. I think they're just glorified question lists. I'd get the ARRL study guides.

one good hint: get the question pool book... read the questions and ONLY study the RIGHT answers, and IGNORE the 'distractors.' That way, when you take the test, the RIGHT answers will jump right off the page at you!

I believe it was from the Microsoft Employee Ham Radio Club, AKA MicroHams.

I'll see if I can find a link to it. If not, I have connections...

The problem with this is that you just learn the test material without really learning anything to help you be a good ham. imho you'll get a lot more out of the hobby if you take the time to understand the questions and why they're being asked instead of just learning the right answers w/o knowing why they're the right answers.
