Bought this lure and have no idea what the extra, red hook is for? Instructions printed on the package were not helpful to me.

trailer hook...higher hook uo ratios.

Attach the black tubing to the silver hook as if the red hook were bait. The red trailing hook provides a backup in case a fish bites too late or slips off the silver hook.

So I put the red hook ON the silver hook and not that other little barb?

Do I then put the twister tail just on the silver hook or on both?

I rarely use trailer hooks. They have their place when you are getting short strikes. The bait will have a better action and have less snags without them.

Same here, it also makes unhooking a stubborn toothy fish a pain in the ass. I'm a catch and release 99% of the time so I want to avoid a gut/gill hooked fish.
