I've been pricing them and noticed that manufacturers differentiate between salt and fresh water.. I want one more for the depth sounder as I'll be travelling rivers as much as the ocean.. What is the difference? |

Saltwater - you want at least 4000 watts of power and a dual frequency transducer... The dual frequency allows you to do things like better track your down riggers etc... Salt water also has a different density and the dual frequency td helps you see further (paint a better picture on your screen).
Hard to beat a Lowrance product. May not have every bell and whistle, but they work and work well.... - and about 90% of the bass pros I fish with use Lowrance - and very few are paid to use them or get them free. (just be sure to update firmware and stuff online - updates come out all the time) |
