I got so stuck on those stories I was staying up late at night to read them. Outstanding fiction with a lot of useful information and points to consider. Deep Winter was the first real "survivalist" story I have ever read unless you count "Unintended Consequences". I have a real taste for it now and want more. My neighbor is going to lend me a copy of Lucifer's Hammer, but are there any other big name suggestions? I'm going to start reading stories on this site now, but I'm hung up wondering about the characters in "Shatter". Will everything be OK mommy? |

My personal fav is Deep Winter. Followed very closely by Shatter. Tom Sherry will be writing part3 Remnants after publishing Shatter. It is probably going to take him awhile because it took over a year for him to get Deep Winter ready for publication. BTW: If you like Tom Sherry's Deep Winter/Shatter, you may also like this story from Tom's friend A.T.(Al/Allen) Hagen: We Interrupt This Program... www.homesteadingtoday.com/showthread.php?t=192640 |

I have to admit I feel pretty honored to have your first ARFCOM post in my thread. Its great to see you posting here as you clearly have a wealth of information insight to share. I'm excited to hear DW is out in hard copy. I can't wait to share it with a few people. I'll be hitting lulu.com here tonight. I have started "We interrupt" and it has been fun to read as well. There are a great number of similarities to DW and Shatter, and it makes me wonder if those similarities are issues that should be getting more attention by us prepared individuals? In any case I can hardly drive by a farm house that is selling chickens without thinking twice about stopping anymore, even though I hated my grandfathers chickens as a kid. Maybe it was the whole forced labor thing. ![]() Thanks for the reply T. Sherry, I wish you great success in the sales of your books. A few copies are certainly going to be heading my way soon. Oh, and if I may make a suggestion, please don't hurry too much. I love the attention to detail you incorporate into your novels. Thanks again, and best of luck, 2IDdoc |
