Is there a way to get rid of Japanese beetles that won't kill every thing around. They are to numerous, and way to high up in trees to safely pick off the trees using a ladder They are on both fruit trees, and also some bushes.

You can buy bait bags, that attract them to the back , then they can't get out and die.

I've read that the bait bags just attract more to your property. But then again, if you've already got a bunch what's a few more?

I've also heard/read that a light, propped on a milk crate sitting in the middle of kiddie-pool of water will kill TONS of them at night. If you haven't figured it out they are highly attracted to lights at night and they are super clumsy at night (crashing into windows etc). I would definitely make sure that setup is on a GFCI circuit that has been tested and is good.

Milky spore and beneficial nematodes to control the grubs in the soil.  Azatrol and/or a Neem oil product for the adults.

As always, spray when beneficials i.e. bees are not active.  Early in the am or right before dark is best.
