I have 89 acres that I own(15 acres of fields)and getting ready to build on. I have two really good year round streams. I've never raised cattle but it interests me. How hard is it to raise beef cows? Any good books on the subject? Tips or concerns from the people who have a few cows.

Thanks for any and all comments.

Born and raised on a farm/ranch. Befriend a local farmer/rancher and seek his advice. Most are very friendly fellows who love to help folks. I know several hobby ranchers that sought my dad's advice and friendship.

Depends on your location and what all you have to do to make it successful. Ask some local ranchers.

15 acres is not going to support many cattle.  Browsing type cattle like Brangus can pick up some in the wooded area, but not much.  You need a set of pens to work them, head gate or chute, hay for winter months and a small trailer to haul calves.  You could AI your cows so you don't need a bull eating all of your grass.  Not much to it.  Fertilize pastures, and worm your cows and keep an eye on them.  Talk to folks at the nearest sale barn, veterinarian or feed store for advice.  You'll get more than you want.

Lease it for a year or two. That will give you time to get the fences in order and a set of working pens built. You can meanwhile take advantage of the ag exemption and pick up pointers along the way. You may decide that doing it yourself is more trouble than it's worth.

You could always look at Lowline cattle if you don't have that much space available.
