I'm specifically looking at this one, anyone have any input on Kohler generators? Bought a house on a dead end road in BFE on top of a hill, if we lose power I doubt we will be a priority

kohler engines are excellent by my experience, I've a Craftsman yard tractor with a 26HP Kohler
that's got over 1000 hours on it and chugs along as needed..just changed the oil, plug, filters and need to get a new fuel filter though the current one is "clean",,it is time to change.. |

Bought a house on a dead end road in BFE on top of a hill, if we lose power I doubt we will be a priority ![]() At our tarpon lodge in Costa Rica we have a 1992 Kohler 200 kW (Detroit Diesel engine). After the previous "manager" cunt failed to do anything after the auto-switching system failed (after 16 years in a rain forest with no maintenance), it sat derelict for 5 years. When I came on I told the owner about (she had hidden it from him). We have constant power outages so it was a priority (we are as remote as it gets in Costa Rica). Six months later (after I found an electro-mechanico and parts, etc.), it roared into life. Actually the engine fired up after we changed the oil, put new batteries on it and put clean diesel in the tank. Don't know about their new ones, but my baby is sweet (she runs the whole Lodge). |
