I went into our Natural Resources office and said I have Ground Hog.  Before I finished with Hog the DNR ranger said kill them.  That year I got 4 and the dogs got one.   The dogs were quarantined for 6 weeks until teh state decided the hog did not have rabies.   I shoot them on sight now.  I get one or two every other year.   17HMR does a real nice job.

Things are like mice, you don't have just one. I had "one" last year, ended up killing 9 on 2 1/2 acres.

My grandpa had a groundhog he wanted killed on his farm back in the early 80's.  He insisted there was only one.  I borrowed my uncle's 22-250 and got to work.  In all, I killed 19 before they were gone.

Take some CLR and put it in a clean spray bottle, find there network of holes, cover all but one with a rock..... Have a buddy open each hole and spray the CLR in the hole and replace the rock.. Stand by the open hole with a 12 gauge and plenty of Ammo...CLR when misted like that puts out a terrible chemical smell ( I know this because my old lady though it would be a good idea to try this to clean our shower, 4 hours later we went back in the bathroom)... I wish I had a place to shoot chucks, farmers around here dont seem to mind them as much, when I was a kid I used to get 5 bucks a head.. I'd gladly do it for free now just for some long range reactive target practice..
