We read that you should plant two seeds per hole and then prune the weaker plant once they come up. We ended up with almost all of them coming up. Should we cut off the weaker plant or just let them grow?

Great question!  My first year trying corn.

I had read to plant three seeds for sweet corn - which I did, and which I failed to thin out later.

They are now at 6' w/tassels so I'm inclined to leave them be.

Granted, they are growing in pretty hot chicken compost and well watered.

Why not try some each way, and see what your results are?  Nothin' like first-hand experience.

You can repost at harvest time and make us all smarter.

We are going to leave a row doubled up and see what happens.

I planted 3 per hole and thinned them down to 2.  Square foot garden with awesome compost.  I don't know how it will work.
