Where can I buy it?

We've had crazy amounts of rain and after 3 years of battling Georgia, I've given up on the whole "organic" and natural ways of fighting the weeds. I just want to nuke the shit out of all 6 acres and be done with it. I want to kill everything green. No grass, no weeds - nothing that photosynthesizes must be left standing!
I want to spray it out with my sprayer...forget the little spot nozzle crap on weed-b-gone. I'm talking crop-duster and if I can find one, canisters from a B52...Ok, maybe not that bad, but I want to cover area, not spray little spots.

Sounds like your ready to join the roundup club mixed with 2-4D. Or Grazon P+D mixed with Remidy.

Wow, sounds potent...I'll give it a shot. Local feed store should have 2-4D...never heard of it though.
Thanks guys!

2-4-d has been around forever.  It kills the hell out of any broadleaf plants.  It is safe to spray over the top of grasses and corn if you follow the label.  Mixed with glyphosate it is a very effective herbicide on any green leafy plant.  On trees and shrubs not so much.

One thing to be Extremely careful of with 2-4-D is the vapor cloud.  2-4-D vaporizes after application an it will burn, stunt, and sometimes kill plants a surprising distance from the application site.  How far away and how bad the effects greatly depend on the type of plant and the ambient atmospheric conditions.  Plants with thin leathery broadleaf foliage like azelias, cotton, and roses will show the greatest effects.  Hot still air is the worst for letting the vapor sit and burn the hell out of non targetted plants.  People get sued all the time for killing their neighbors shrubbery or crops for mis-application of herbicides.  You don't want to find out what it costs to replant a few acres of genetically modified row crops these days.  Trust me.  Read and follow all label instructions.  If you don't know ask your local county agricultural extension agent for help.  They provide free expert services to anyone who asks.

2-4-5-T was used in the formulation of Agent orange.  It was banned a long long time ago in the US because one of it's ingredients is Dioxin among other extremely nasty constituents.  It was mainly used as a tree and brush killer.  The modern tree & brush killers don't work nearly as well.  But they don't kill humans nearly as well either.

Thanks Wile, that's a boat load of information!
I started out with the roundup a few days ago and it's not looking promising...may have to get some 24d in there...going to hose it down with another round of roundup first...

all spot on advice...please make sure to put a good surfactant in the mix and dye so you know where your passes are getting applied.

Yes, I always add dishwashing detergent when I make up round-up or any other weed killer.

One
thing OP. If you just use round up, you can replant almost immediately,
as it breaks down in the soil quite quickly, if you add in the 24-D you cannot.

As mentioned above, mixing 2-4-D and glyphosate ( roundup) @ 2 oz ea per gallon of water and you should be GTG. The 2-4-D will get the woody & weed type stuff, the Glyphosate will get the grassy stuff.   I think you would have trouble getting Agent Orange  equivalent these days, it had Dioxin in it and you would not want it on your place.  The mentioned dish soap acts as a surfactant and allows better penetration of the chemicals. 2-3 oz per 10 gallons of water.   Get the weeds / brush while it is actively growing, you will get better results.   If you really want the max nasty chemical for everything, gramoxone ( Paraquat) will "nuke" everything, but its pretty poisonous.   I use it on hazelnut suckers with great effect.  get at this soon, as the summer wears on, stuff is harder to kill. Spring early Summer is the best time.  This may well be a 2-3 year project to get your acceptable control level.  Weeds have a nasty habit of re seeding and coming back.  Also another reason to get at it now.
As for 2-4-D going airborne ( volatile)   apply it late evening when the temp is going down.  If you apply and the temp stays below 72 degrees you will have no issue.  Another option is 2-4-D amine, it will not go volatile
some of the stuff mentioned here is restricted use ( requires license) .  use discretion

Oh and if its any consolation, Monsanto , the maker of Roundup, was one of the manufacturers of Agent Orange......

Roundup ( glyphosate) takes several days to 2 weeks to show effects.  It effects the photosynthesis and inhibits the uptakes of sugars by the plant.  It starves to death, so it takes a bit of time to see results.  It does not kill / burn down the plant.  When sprayed in Feb ( yes we do) it takes 1-2 months to show any effect.  The plants are growing very slowly in thew the early spring.   many people think they got ripped off because they do not see fast results, and they re apply.....be patient.  Oh and one last thing, be wary of China made generic glyphosate, I have had some pretty poor results with this stuff .  Cheaper? yes, you get what you pay for.  I now buy the Monsanto stuff, my time is too valuable to have to keep applying chemicals because of bad stuff.
