Guess i need to get working on finding some squash recipes.
My two favorites simple receipes. 1. Slice them, toss in Italian salad dressing and grill. 2. Slice them, saute in a pan with Olive Oil, butter, salt, pepper, sliced scallions, garlic or onion if you have them in the garden. Otherwise use garlic powder. As a kid my mother used to do a casserole with I think sour cream, cream of chicken soup, seasoned croutons, and grated cheese. |

Yeah, about my favorite is to slice them and fry em up in butter with some onions, or garlic. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and they are great I have heard of grilling them, just never tried it before, may have to try that. |

Seasoned flour and fried. I love crookneck squash. Wife has fixed two batches this week and that's all we ate for supper, good stuff. Yeah, I love the white pan squash the best like that, or even a beer batter is even better My Grandma makes a awesome squash dish with tomatoes, ground beef, cabbage, a few onions, peppers and lots of cheese on top, not sure what she calls it, but we always called it "goolosh" Pretty much anything fresh from the garden you throw in, damn is it good!
After yesterdays rain, I pulled off about 4 more yellow squash, these things take off after a good rain storm |
