Does anyone use garden planning software?
Each year I say I will keep records but never get around to it. Haven't done much searching yet but looked at this today http://www.plangarden.com/ Opinions or personal experiences with any? |

I used this free one: http://www.gardeners.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-Gardeners-Site/default/Page-KGPJS
Here's a link to a useful grid generator for all sorts of layout purposes:http://incompetech.com/graphpaper/lite/ You can make targets with that too. |

I started using Plangarden at the end of last year. We outgrew the grid paper method. I went back over the winter and recreated our plantings for 2010. I also input our harvest records. Now that I have it set up I just copied records to 2011 and can plan my rotation of crops. It is inexpensive and easy to use. It is not perfect. It is web based so sometimes it acts a bit funky. It has some bugs but the admin was very responsive to the bugs I found. They continue to add features based on user feedback. So far it looks like it will meet my needs. |
