Well we had our first frost last night and there goes all the residual peppers and such we were getting, i bet.  The Broccoli and Collards looked a little rough this am when i left but they should be good to go.  I guess tomorrow i will take a look and pull up everything not winter hardy and toss it in the compost pile.   This was my first garden so i am assuming it killed the peppers and such,  should i wait till next weekend to make sure?  Who else has had a frost hit.

We've had hard frosts here for the last couple of nights. I kinda mentally distinguish between "hard frosts" and "light frosts". A hard frost is a dusting of freeze that persists for 15 minutes or so after dawn (arbitrary definition). Scrape-it-off-your-windshield kinda frost.

Peppers can deal with light frosts reasonably well.

If you've had a hard frost your fruit is doomed. Pick it now and use it up. If you don't, you'll come back in a day or so and there'll be black spots on it where it's rotted.
