hat
Can you salvage anything?

We've had too much rain too here, we haven't even been able to rototill our garden or my grandma's garden.

Salvaged most of it. Acutally found a watermelon and a cantalope transplant at the edge of my deck which is about 75' from where it was planted. Most of the beets were washed out and a lot of my topsoil is washed out. The good thing is that I essentially plant on high rows that are 3' wide and 50' long with ditches in between. Today a lot of my transplants looked pale but I don't want to go in with a lot of fertilizer yet. We've gone from a severe drought to having over 10" of rain in three weeks. My garden is heavy clay and is saturated.

This afternoon I tilled a 3' wide 18" high berm at the low end to trap what I can and run the water off on either side of the garden. Big storms supposed to be back tomorrow.

The tornados and bad weather you saw on the news for Clemmons and Advance, North Carolina was sitting on top of us for about 4 hours. One tornade touched down 10 miles from here and 2 were within 3 miles. Greensboro, NC airport had some planes blown off a wall. My butt stayed puckered all night.......and my POS Generac genny wouldn't crank, getting gas but I've torn it down and can't figure out why it isn't getting fire. I just ordered an 8000 watt Briggs today to take it's place.

I appreciate your thoughts..........
