| I'm going to have to go with Alton Brown. Knows his stuff and is more educational than entertaining. Rides a motorcycle too. |
|
Masaharu Morimoto and Hiroyuki Sakai from Iron Chef. No one else is even close. Some who suck: Bobby Flay Emeril Lagasse, decent chef, his act is just annoying as all hell. That chick who uses pre-made shit from cans, not Rachael Ray, who does this too. |

Alton Brown, Good Eats. Love his show the best, hands down. I haven't gotten much into the Feasting on Asphalt show yet. There are better chefs out there, but Alton's stuff is not only very good, but it's easily recreated in the average home, by the average home cook, and he makes it easy to understand the basics so you can experiment later using those basics. eta: Fishngrits, you must be talking about Sandra Lee's Semi-Homemade. The blonde lush with the boobies hanging out every show.... she makes a different cocktail every episode. |
I saw a behind the scenes thing with her once, and found out she went to Le Cordon Bleu. She said she spent all that time learning how to make all these things from scratch, and realized how much time they take, and how most people don't have the time to make soup base from scratch, etc. So she said she was shopping at the grocery store and looked at Biscut mix, and thought that hey- it has the same ingredients already mixed together, so why not incorporate it into the cooking to make it go faster.... that kind of thing. That's what she says anyway. I still think she's a suburban mom lush. |
That's my favorite kind of suburban mom! Alton Brown for ease of use and good food. Bobby Flay should be run out of town on a rail. He makes everything with corn. Everything. I bet he even makes corn-flavored ice-cream. Edit: Nigella Lawson is the hottest one on there. |
I've actually had corn ice cream. It was quite good. Think about it, corn is actually really sweet. Of course there were no kernels in it, as the base was pureed and strained. Bobby Flay still blows dog. |
I miss the old Iron Chef shows. Sakai always kicked ass. Giada is hot, Rachael looks hot sometimes. Sandra Lee is definately a MILF. There is this other heathfood chick with short dark hair that isn't on alot but she is sexy too. I can't think of her name. |
i'd spray PAM all over Sandie... dont think i wouldnt. |
|
Giada and Nigella Lawson are unbelievably hot. Nigella loves to show off her endowments and it keeps my eyes GLUED to her. I'm glad they're phasing out Rachael Ray, though. I was a fan of hers until she got too pop-ish and full of herself. Although not on the Food Network, I LOVE Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations. It's probably my favorite food related show right now. |
Thats the one! Thanks brother. |
Yeah, she does it for me too. |
He's a damn good writer, too. He wrote a book called Kitchen Confidential a few years ago that's kind of a memoir/autobiography. It's entertaining as hell. ETA Alton Brown is probably my favorite because he's the most informative. Nigella Lawson is my favorite to look at. I just wish they'd show that big 'ol butt more. |

Another vote for Alton Brown. When I retired from the Army I had spent so much time overseas I didn't even realize there was a "Food Channel." I sure wouldn't have believed I would be a fan of a "cooking show"! A close second is Mario Batali, a local boy, he went to the same high school my wife did, and his family owns and operates Salumi, a Lately we've also been enjoying Dinner Impossible, with Robert Irvine, formerly of the Royal Navy. ETA: Tonight Chef Irvine is feeding a bunch of USMC Boots! |

Alton Brown is fucking awesome. Hands down. Giada's probably the only gal I can stand, and her show is actually quite good despite her three-adjective vocabulary and her massive cranium. Awesome recipes, definitely worth watching. First person to say Rachael Ray gets stabbed. That big-assed talentless schlub is now representing the industry in one of the worst ways I've ever seen. |
| Ok obviously I may be in the minority here but I happen to like Bobby Flay. My wife has bought me a couple of his cookbooks and there are some good recipes in them. My favorites are the grilled bread panzanella (bread and tomato salad) and his ground coffee rubbed steaks. Together that is one fine meal. Yes I know he uses corn in lots of his recipes but that is because of his southwest background where corn is a main ingredient. A few years ago I had the pleasure of eating at his Las Vegas restaurant. He happened to be there and I got to say hi. He was very polite and the food was excellent, but expensive like all the other "celebrity" restaurants are. |

I like Alton Brown because he at least attempts to give you the technical details behind what is happening in the dish. As a practicing Food Scientist, I can tell you he is close, not completely correct, but probably 2/3 the way to good enough! ...but he is way closer than some of the drivel spouted by most of the true chefs on the channel! i.e. acids cook meat or fish! Come on, puuleeze. Acids denature protein, so does heat, but acids do not develop the carmelization that heat does. ...and acids do not destroy as many bacteria as heat does. That said, my wife bought me an Alton Brown tee-shirt. On the back it says, "SCIENCE – IT'S WHAT'S FOR DINNER!" My daughter calls Sandra Lee and Giada's shows, "Cooking with Boobs"! Yes, I guess they do cook on those shows too! |
Malto Mario is shown on fine living network also, although not that often,, |
yeah this one is my favorite |
