| Was just wondering what the difference is in the Molle 2 Ruck frames is. I know that the 2nd generation was made stonger in some of the stress points. Is that the black frame? I have a black frame and a foliage green frame. Are they different generations? I now see that they have a Gen 4 frame that is Coyote brown. Are there any concerns with the earlier generations? Thanks! |

Thanks! Go here, to the frame mfr's site: http://downeastinc.com/cgi-bin/online/storepro.php, click the "A La Cart Frames" button, and read up. Pay particular attention to the frame's 4-digit model number (1603/1606/1609) It is cast into the frame, usually in the waist belt area, and can be a bit hard to see if the waist belt is in place. These are the only models of frames that are GTG, from all reports yet received. All previous versions were defective, and will break, sooner or later. Color is not a way to determine whether a frame is GTG. The simplest, sure-fire way is by the frame model number cast into the frame. |
