Hey folks. So, I have a Woodmans Pal, the classic with the riveted ash handle, and for my BOL it is damn near the perfect tool except for one problem. I have busted the rivets twice, and had to send it back for repair. I asked if they had something tougher and they said no. Anybody here have a similar problem and solution? Sure it sounds simple, but I am about as handy as a rabid chimpanzee, I don't even know how rivets work (please feel free to make fun of me). I was thinking maybe epoxy? but not sure how that works with wood/metal interface.

Epoxy will work very well in a wood/metal bond. I like the kind that comes in 2 unconnected tubes. I've never had good luck with the 2-part putty type.

This picture illustrates how the rivets work. You have to make sure they are very close to exactly the right length, or there'll be a lot of slop between them and the handle will fit loosely.

You put the "male" rivet inside the "female," put the female on a hard surface, and smack the male with a hammer. They'll be press-fitted together.
