I need a light that will light up a small car camping area. Possibly to be used inside a 9 man tent also.
Any recommendations?
Should I get a separate light for each?

Thank you

Im in same boat. I have a small AA battery powered LED lantern, it works well in a tent if you hang it up high, but on the surface of say a picnic table it was all but useless. Im looking for some kind of hanging lantern or something that will put out some light. Ive got a Coleman propane one, but havent used it. Still looking at other options.

If your camping, I would get seperate ones, one for the tent and one for car or picnic table, that way someone could be int he tent and wont take the light with them.

Is that the Apollo?
What kind of run time do you get from one set of batteries?

Thanks

You can get a diffuser tip for a flashlight that will turn it into a lantern so you can have a high powered flashlight as well as a lantern.  Fenix makes them in a couple of different sizes and they work very well.  This option will also be a lot more lightweight and compact compared to a lantern if weight and size are a concern.

It's funny, but I am a light junkie and I never use huge amounts of light at the camp site. It just kills too much of my night vision so I don't enjoy it as much. I have a propane Coleman lantern that puts out some pretty intense light.

I like the Apollo a lot, but it's not overwhelmingly bright. Just right for me though.

+1.

Using a diffuser eliminates the need to carry separate flashlights and lanterns.

Also, the most efficient, latest-generation LEDs are a lot easier to find in flashlights than in lanterns - which can give you more light and/or run-time from a set of batteries.

Also available in red - Good for preserving night vision.

I use a coleman dual fuel for outside and one of these for inside the tent. Love both of them.
