How important is the gun carrying ability of the Halftrack to you?  That seems to be the big difference.

Both are a mix of 500D and 1000D Nylon and both are covered in MOLLE/PALS webbing.
Have you carried a Kelty before?  Their Mil/Tac line is based on their hiking line, just heavier and brown, instead of the flashy colors.  Can you find the equivalent at a sporting goods store and try it out first?
I've had great success with my Kelty (Redwing).
No experience with the Eberlestock products.

the gun carrying is not important as i would carry my primary long arm and the secondary( shotgun) will be in a scabbard that attaches with PALS.... and unless i am mistaken the halftrack on its own wont support a weapon with out an additional product added on.... but i may be wrong....

I have used Eberlestock stuff for a while now.  Absolutely top notch. I sold all my other bags and went exclusively Eberlestock.
