I am looking for a source of pants of all kinds that come with button waists (for suspenders.) If they have really just gone by the wayside, I would be willing to make my own if someone knows where to find heavy duty rivet buttons and a tool to install them. I'm most likely not going to be doing much dating while wearing them...but I love suspenders for just about all outdoor activities and physical labor, hence survival gear forum. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys. |

A search found me this http://www.hanksclothing.com/suspender_buttons_buy.html. Guess that settles that. ![]() |

duluth is the name of a catalog with some pants that still come with buttons on the pants and I believe you can buy buttons and suspenders and make your own setup. The big button on the top of a pair of jeans is easy to install yourself, just set the two pieces up on either side of the fabric and I tend to use a ball peen hammer, 2 or 3lb size, or someone could use a vice or something if they preferred that method. I believe that button will work with suspenders. Filson is another name that might still make pants with the bottons on the pants already. I have gone to buying heavy duty pants and keeping them long term vs. the buy cheaper stuff and replace as it wears out. So I would have no problem installing buttons if I had to do so but duluth and filson both make some seriously heavy duty stuff. |
| Carhart sells the buttons along with the suspenders. I'm sure they sell just the buttons as well. IT takes a little while to get the hang of installing them. You may ruin the first few buttons, but they give you a few spare. I put a set on my rain pants. They've held up all winter with no problems. |
