I'd like to get some maps for my Garmin 60Cx, and figured that this group could point me to the site with the best ones.   I found a few things on my own, but haven't downloaded maps before and want to make sure I'm getting good ones.

TIA.

I downloaded some freeware topo maps.  I had to install several programs to compile and convert the files to work on my Garmin, but it did work.  The map was much more detailed and accurate than the crap base map that came on the unit.

The Garmin sucked out though.  I took it camping in Georgia and when I fired it up in the morning it would not acquire any satellites.  It wasn't until I left 5 miles out from the campsite, back on a highway that I picked up satellites again.  I returned that Garmin the next day.

Download the maps needed for your state.  Use Mapsource to get them on your gps and enjoy saving money.

ETA:  I didn't need to use any additional software or converter programs to get them to work on my 60 CSX.

Does anyone happen to know if there is a limit to the capacity of a MicroSD card that the Garmin will support?  I would like to buy the biggest one possible, but don't want to overbuy and end up with something that the unit won't support.  I am looking through the manual of my 60Cx right now and can't find anything on this.
