Wondering if anybody can answer a question or two for me.

Looking at getting one of these, will it hold a Glock 19 in the CCW pocket?

Also, is there enough room for a Glock 19 and one of the magazine holsters in the pocket?  I am thinking no, but wanted to ask before I order everything.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you sir.

Anyone know about adding the mag holder as well?

I've got a Jumbo. I can put in a G22 in the holster insert and two magazines in the dual-mag insert, no problem.

I thought about getting the Jumbo, but I think the Fatboy will suit my needs a little better, want a little smaller pack.

Looks like the Jumbo is 1" bigger in each direction in the CCW pocket.  Is it snug, or is there plenty of room?

I have the Fatboy Versipack, and I carry one of my G19s in the CCW compartment.

Never tried it with a gun + mag-style holster, but I have one of those lying around and I will try it for you when I get home this evening unless someone can give you a definitive yes/no before then.

ETA:  I suspect it will fit, because I sometimes put a G19 in that compartment in a leather Wilson Combat IWB (their version of the "summer special") and there is still room to spare.

Thank you Sir.  Looking at ordering it tomorrow.

Anyone have a strong feeling one way or the other regarding the old vs new (belt loop vs removable waist belt)?

The Jumbo's a little tight with the G22 and both mags, but it has a Glock Sock on it and the mags each have those nifty Magpul floor plate loops on them.

Mine has the older style belt loop, but I've never used it.

You got me looking at the Versipacks and was thinking of getting the EDC model. Have you looked at that one and compared it to the Jumbo Versipack? Pros/Cons?

Here's a couple of pics of my Jumbo Versipack with my Glock 19. When I carry it in the Versipack I leave it in the IWB CompTac C-Tac Holster. It easily fits in the pocket with the holster. I keep 2 extra mags in the front pouch or the top pouch as in the picture.

Looks like plenty of room for a 19 with a couple inches to spare, thinking the 19 should fit in the Fatboy just fine.

The one I tried for you last night was a Fatboy, with a G19 and spare mag in a gun+mag holster, just as you asked about.

(I should've taken pics...

3:48 minutes into the video I posted above shows the cellphone pouch installed and demo'd with the iPhone in it.

Is that the LEO model?  Looking at the pics the cell phone holder looks to be different on the LEO vs the Fatboy.  The LEO seems to be open on the corners, while the Fatboy is a closed pocket.

Hard to tell from just pictures though.

Maxpedition... technically it's concealed, but not really.

He demos three models in that video. The EDC, LEO, and the standard Jumbo Fatboy. In that scene the cellphone pocket is shown on the LEO model and it does have the open corners. From all the pics I've seen the jumbo fatboy versipack have closed corners.

I have the The Fatboy that is my EDC "Murse".
I just tried my I touch in the pocket on the strap ear that close w/ a fastex buckle.  It fits but w/ a Sharpie & another marker in the pen holders its tight.  My Motarola Krazor fits & gets lost in the pocket.
As for fitting a side arm...for me its tight w/ a Glock M22 using Maxpedition's elastic holster.  Using the same setup w/ a S&W M&P 9c works like a champ.
As for the krap I carry in my Murse;
G22,
spare mag,
head light,
streamlight,
spare batteries for both-AAA & cr123
sharpie, ball point pens & other assorted writing instruments,
Merco knife sharpener,
small officers type swiss army knife,
SOG multi tool,
Blistix,
Advil,
band aids,
aspirin,
Neosporin,
sinus meds,
wallet,
check book,
master key set,
3' tape measure,
hand lotion,
M3 weapon light,
sunglasses,
lens cleaning cloth,
sometimes munchies & a bottle of water.

To answer your core question...

I have a fatboy that I EDC.
In the concealed pocket, I carry a G19 and two 15 round mags.  I do this using the loop style holster and the double mag shingle with elastic bands that Maxped sells.

I highly recommend the Fatboy Versipack. The colors offered now are great. I like the tan/green one. The "secret" compartment like others have mentioned before is large enough to hold a Beretta M9.

The add-on pouches like the Anemone are awesome for adding a cell phone and other little things. Look into the Anemone and some of the other modular pouches if you want.

IIRC, arent the Maxpedition shoulder bags of this general sort designed for right-side carry only, or are there left-side versions available?

If I am correct, left-handed shooters might have a problem with these bage if a specific version is not available for them.

Can someone please clear up this issue?

The S type pack are for the lefties.

Got my fatboy a little earlier than planned. Loving it so far. Have the 19 and 2 mags in the ccw pocket, and a bunch of other goodies.

There are left-handed ("S") versions available for most models.

Just wanted to add that the Janus extension pocket will hold a Yaesu FT-60R radio (with antenna taken off and stored along side) and spare battery holder with room to spare.
