| What is your favorite denatured alcohol stove? |
|
Of all the stoves I've built or bought, if I could only pick one...
the Whitebox stove would top my list. Simple, robust, holds plenty of fuel and burns very hot. |

My favorite is my Origlo boat stove. You can cook anything on it you can a gas burner with just as much control.
Second, my Optimus Hiker. Its a pressure concept but has the same cook anything control. Third, yep the Swedish military, Trangia. These work very well with the light weight folding Sterno type stoves. Tj |
| You cannot argue with a well made Pepsi can, homemade stove. Using a small piece of tin that is rounded up on the edge and with a rounded up hole cut in the center will provide a nice addition. This piece of tin will receive a few drops of alcohol and will "prime" the stove in a matter of seconds and make it cook faster. These are cheap and easy to make and are replaceable quickly. Use some aluminum foil tape and bubble wrap to make a pot cozy to hold heat in the pot longer which in turn means you can use less fuel. Less fuel=longer supply or lighter load. |

I don't know that I have a favorite. I'm made a bunch of Coke/Beer can stoves of various designs. I also have a Trangia, Svea, Brasslite, among others. I like 'em all. Just got a new titanium stove but I can't ever remember the name of it.
ETA: Vargo Triad is the Ti stove I took on my most recent AT hike. Worked well.
