Does anyone have one of these?

Wondering if they are any good?

Great idea, but the technology isn't quite there yet.  Show me a side-by-side comparison with a regular road flare, and I promise the road flare puts out a ton more light.  That thing could barely illuminate the map 3 inches away when being used as a map light.  You're going to bet your life that it's visible to motorists whizzing by at 70 MPH?

i think it'd be better if it did a strobe feature to get peoples attention, cool idea tho

ive got a couple of the coast LED "chem" lites. Red, green etc. Tail cap sucks( will rip off) but they have long lives and the strove feature is nice. The "red" one has come in handy at night and the green for marking a kid or tent line at o-dark 30.

My department has tried a few of the flare alternatives over the past decade....revolving LEDs, etc. While they may have specific uses where they are better than flares, I still believe in using the traditional road flares where possible.

ditto. the ones we have suck for the actual replacement of flares. they don't have the balls for daylight operation and at night they aren't intense enough for a highway type setting. these may have applications for other things, like marking a car to find later in the dark on a two-track in the woods or whatever, but to actually replace a flare, no way. thanks to the OP for the heads up on the find though.

I have tried these, which I love.  More expense though but has more features
