Who remembers the old Buckmaster 184?

I got one as birthday present about 20 years ago.  It was a big, mean Rambo/Seal/survival knife.  It looked soooo cool to my 18 year old mind.  Then I took it camping and decided it was too big, too heavy, the saw sucked and it wasn't more useful than a basic and much lighter drop point knife.  It's been its box ever since.  Just for kicks I looked them up on Ebay and found out they're kinda collectible.

Did anyone actually like these things and is anybody still using one?

I got one in a trade a long time ago. Never used it. Sold it on Ebay for 575.00 a few years ago. People collect them now and they sell pretty good.

I still have one of the earlier models that my brother gave me.  He has since passed so it will never be sold and only used in a SHTF situation.

I have one I have never used. I sold my row boat and there for was not in need of an anchor. They remind me of a Spas 12 shotgun in that they look cool but are less practical than other options.

I always wanted one when they came out, but being a kid, I couldn't afford it.

Now that they are out of production, I still can't afford it...

Well, I could, but there are much better knives out there for much less $$$.

I've had one for over 20 years myself.  It is a cool looking blade, but heavy as hell and not to practical to lug around.  I chipped the tip and had to reprofile it and have since handed it down to my son that loves, but still knows it's too big to carry any farther than just around the house.  If it was in better condition, I probably would have sold it on Ebay, but it's a nice chunk of steel in the collection.

I won't sell mine for sentimental reasons, but I don't ever see me carrying it.
