I'm gonna start putting together a BOB, and I'm wondering what the best type of pack is best. My wife thinks a large frame pack would be best, but I think that might be a bit large. Here is what I was thinking! We are a family of four, Me my Wife, ANd 2 girls 13 and 5. Ithought that I would have the largest pack with most of the supplies, than my wife would have a bag for herself and my 5 year old, and my 13 year old would have her own bag. I decided this would be best cause I can't see fitting everything needed in to 1 bag.My pack would have my clothes, frst aid, food, and all other survival related stuff including guns and ammo. My Wife and 5 year olds pack would have thier clothes a small First Aid and a small amount of water and food, just in case we get sepperated, and the same goes for my other daughter. So as far as the girls packs, I think your basic largs pack packs are fine but what type of pack should I have, would a frame pack be best? or something different?

Here Is mine, but anything above 25 lbs you must have a frame!

Medium and Large LC-2 Alice  Rucks are still cheap, $10-35 for the bag, $20-35 for a GI frame.   You can upgrade to a Down East plastic Molle 1606 frame for better comfort, worth the $.

Replace the LC2 straps/waistbelt with the Molle stuff, big difference in comfort.

Where is a good place to find a good frame pack or ruck or whatever?

Why if the pack is over 25lbs do you need to have it on a frame?

The frame distrubutes the weight evenly. THe packs I've had start to hurt the lower back and pull the shoulders after 25 lbs.
