I am considering the purchase of body armor for possible future use if conditions warrant. I have no experience in this area and am lookng for suggestions on affordable armor that can handle the common 9, 40, and 45 calibers that would be the most likely encountered. I would prefer that it be concealable under clothing. I would appreciate input from actual users and owners of this equipment.

A good website with lots of info...

Whatever you end up going with, make sure it is marked with the NIJ rating.

Ebay stuff buyer beware. I got a very good lightly used vest for $100 plus shipping, it is only level 2, but light weight and I can move in it. Which I realy wanted since it is prt of my bugout gear. I don't want to be walking around in 15 lbs of body armor, plus humping a 30lbs pack.
