While shopping a Kroger's tonight, I ran across something in which you may be interested. I carry a sewing kit in my BOB. It has a tube that contains straight pins and regular sized needles. With my eyesight, I just about need a magnifying glass to thread one of those needles. While looking at things I saw this rack with sewing gear and there on the rack was a package of 12 Large Eye Needles, sizes 18 to 22 made by Singer. I thought WOW you can see to tread them. I imagined what it would be like to be cold and wet trying to repair something with dental floss - you could thread them. Then I discovered a package of 7 Heavy Duty Hand Needles, also by Singer, with sizes ranging from very small to small, medium, large and huge with two curved needles. Also with big eyes. (Man, I'm a sucker for big eyes.) At $1.89 each - had to have them both. The packages are a little smaller than a playing card and trimming off the excess cardboard packaging will fit nicely in my kit. Thought you would like to know. |
