Anyone know of a good tent from any big box like Dicks, Gander, Target etc that is 100% really waterproof out of the box, with a bathtub style bottom say 3-6 person in size? And easy to set up?

Does anyone make a tent with locking legs kind of like on pop up canopies? or do all of them still require the silly poles with bungee inside?

Just received a 4 Season tent from Cabelas on Friday and set it up very quickly today.
You can find it at http://www.cabelas.com/hprod-1/0043361.shtml . I wanted something for all seasons and this had it. Will be camping in this come January and Feb. to test it out.

eureka timberline outfitter series. Purchase from campmor, I maintain between
20-30 of them. Many are over 15 years old. Worth every penny. overkill fabric,
overkill zippers, thick wall aluminum poles..............you get the idea.
Do not bitch about the price, divide the price by 20 years and your COST will
lower than any other product.

I paid about $80 for my Eureka Tetragon 8 from Dick's. It's a very nice tent with the bathtub floor and is a breeze to setup. All it requires is extending two shock-corded poles and then crisscrossing them. There are short rods in each corner to go in the ends. Then you just clip the tent body to the poles and you're done. Well, actually you still have the rain fly to do but it's still a breeze.

If you're looking for a tent to live in, canvas is the way to go.

Get a good wall tent and you can have a wood burning stove in it for winter heat and cooking, make wooden poles at your camp site, and you don't have to worry about shitty zippers and being careful not to poke holes in it and all that crap.

I have a Timberline 2 and a Timberline 4.  The timberline 2 I bought in 1985 and it is still 100%, and I have used the crap out of it.  I have worn out 3 stuff- sacks on this tent.  The Timberline 4 I bought in 1990 and it doesent get used as much but is still super quality.  I only have the regular not the outfitter..

Yup, I have  the 2, 4 and 6xt

I have had the Timberline 2 since 1986, and used the crap out of it backpacking, and it is still in great shape!

Just got the 6xt and love it too

+1 for the Tetragon 8. Bought mine from Amazon and treated it with 2 cans of waterproofing spray. The actual tent has a screen roof at the top and comes with a rainfly. Rode out a heluva storm in mine and didn't get wet at all. Easy to set up also.
