So today i scored a Tactical Tailor Molle vest for $15 off craigslist! Now i need to add some mag pouches, handgun holster, etc. I can see the difference in quality between a TT vest and a chinese knock-off but what about pouches? Are there any of the generic pouches (ie from CTD) that are decent? Or should i spend the extra money to get TT pouches. This vest system will only get used a few times a year. Thanks in advance! |

CTD is probably selling Condor stuff which for Chinese stuff isn't that bad. Everything of Condor I've bought has at least been cut properly and able to hold what it was designed for. Some of the pouches from Major had the snaps placed in the wrong spot making them useless. Also a vest I bought from them had the PALs loops sewn shut. Someone must of fallen asleep while sewing. If you're using it for airsoft or just the occaional play your set with knock off stuff. If your going to roll around in the mud, dirt, rain and beat it, you're going to want to spend the extra money. The extra cost goes to the material, 1000 denier and the thread which is nylon bonded, usually size 69 or 138 which is much better quality and won't rot like regular thread. You get what you pay for here. If you need better then Chinese quality pouches check Ebay for SDS or other military pouches which have experience. You can pick up AR mag pouches for just a couple bucks. |
I'm jealous! Did you use any search words to find it on your local Craigslist? I've tried molle locally but can't usually find anything. John |
