many of us do.  there's a good introductory thread here: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=10&f=18&t=506065

and this has good info, too: www.ar15.com/content/page.html?id=11

good luck, and keep the questions/updates coming.

ETA: I use a regular school backpack with good stitching for my GHB (get home bag - stays with me at all times) and an ALICE pack as my BOB.

Make sure the bag is small enough for your needs but not tooo big that it stays home when you need it. Same applies to knives and flashlights.

Having the ability to just squeak by is better than being SOL because you left the tools to survive a situation at home.

For $20 get a Surplus Swedish 35L Backpack made out of Cordura. It is Bombproof and will fit nicely in a trunk.

Buy a pair of ALICE straps for it and you will never need more.

here is it!

Read the thread at the top "BOB what it should be"

That said I keep a Camelbak Motherload as my BOB. When I go backpacking I dump it out and repack it with the stuff I want for a backpacking trip.

How about this - http://www.specopstech.com/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=1549

1. Read the tacked thread regarding "BOB, what it should be".

2. Decide on the items you will actually need and want to carry from the excellent list in that thread.

3. Find/buy a bag large enough/comfortable enough to carry said gear from list.

Buying the bag first might limit what you can carry or be "too big" for your needs.

BTW, the bag you posted is pretty cool looking and could be a viable option if it is made well and can carry the gear you need.  In the right color it could even be very grayman-ish.

Hope that helps,

Spoon
