| Does anyone know what kind of vest they use on the TV show SG-1. Would that be a good vest to have for a SHTF situation? Or should you go low profile and just use a fishing/hunting vest? |

Actually whatever works for you would be the best choice... The Vests on the TV show are likely as not Blackhawk or Eagle (Betting Blackhawk) I would likely just choose some sort of chest rig that is easy to get into, easy to reach everywhere and holds all your needed gear. Probably 4 to 6 magazines for your primary, and 4 for your secondary. Limited first aid gear, signalling gear, and minimum survival gear. A means to carry water (usually these days some sort of camelback) a vest such as you mention CAN be adapted to survival use, sort of an emulation of the US military flyers survival vest. Usually contains Water or a means to carry water, water purification method, Signalling and navigation gear, A means to make fire, and a handgun and magazine... This sort of thing along with a jacket or coat that will fit over it in the wintertime may suit your needs. |
