I was considering getting one of these for my first BOB.

Would this be good for that, or would I be better off just getting a medium alice to start with?

Looks like I can get the molle II shipped for $40. This includes the frame, main pack, shoulder straps, waist belt, cover, and radio pouch.
edit: and sleeping system carrier

I have never done any serious backpacking, but have always wanted to.

I asked about it before, everyone said to save my money and get something different. IIRC one person said that it would probably serve my purposes but everyone did agree that there are better options out there
