This is my start on my BOB, I need to add a knife, soda can stove (mine haven't come out so good yet), fuel and I dunno what else. That's why I'm posting on here.

I have a wife and 2 small children so if not bugging in we will probally head to my mother in laws. Which is about 10 miles away. Probally the biggest threat in WA would be if Mt. Rainer blows and we will be headed there which is high ground.

From top to bottom , left to right.
Molle pack
5 MRE's. I like MRE's because there is no need to add water on most of them and the whole thing is usuable.
Drinking water, camel bladder
550 cord, medical supplies (bandaids, gauze, burn ointment, suture kits, triangle bandage, scissors) spool of high tensil fishing line, map, fishing kit (lures, bobbers, hooks) chemlights, flashlight.
Compass, dust masks, waterproof thing for first aid kit, 4 space blankets, water filter
8x10 tarp, hand warmers, thermal blanket, waterproof matches and lighter.

Maybe a few inexpensive ponchos or even a few large trash bags for quick and easy rain proofing.
I couldnt get the picture to show up so I have to ask but are there smaller dust masks for the kids?

for starters. strip those MREs, by that i mean remove all the extra packaging. you'll remove more bulk and weight than you would have though. you can loose most of the stuff from the accesorie pack as well, you should already have several form of firestarting implements, you will need more TP for a group/your family, and a single walmart light my fire brand spork will be more useful and replace the 5 spoons in the 5 MREs.

I agree; need to do something with the MRE's.

+1  if any thing keep one (1) of them un-opened  The plastic container makes a handy water carrier/holder.

a  garbage bag, and maybe another tarp, you know as well as i do, in the northwest it is most often cold and wet. A ground tarp will increase comfort and survivability.

No Knife?
Hard to tell from the pic, I would add Duck tape, tinder of some kind, a metal cup, and a Multi-tool or SAK.

I can't seee pics either, but strip the MRE down, get rid of excess...do the kids eat them?? better find out now. why dust masks, they are of no use except sweeping the garage, or mowing lawn...evrybody adds fishing gear, do you fish, or can you without a pole??  will your family eat fish like that??

I would say that a dust make is important here in the northwest... Ever hear of VOLCANOES? and we have plenty in this state, at least 5. They can spew out ash and you would not want to breath that! I have some that are made by 3M and are folded flat in plastic. Keep them clean and dry

Dust masks are for volcanic ash if mount rainier blows. When that crap was going around in Japan? I noticed everyone wearing dust masks too.  Also can use them as filters.

I can fish and there are a lot of lakes here. We all like fish. The fishing line can be used for anything. The fish lures and hooks don't take up any room or weight and can be used for a lot of other stuff too.

My daughter will eat anything. My son is picky as hell so he will eat probally the crackers and peanut butter. And I packed him a spagetti MRE he likes that.

I added a knife, some garbage bags and a roll of TP.

I'm going to add Duck tape,a metal cup, a Multi-tool, soda can stove and fuel, and another tarp. And I probally strip the MRE's. I am going to also make another bag with extra clothes and flashlight.

Thanks guys.

What about MSH?  Does it still smolder from time to time?

I'd comment on your BOB, but I don't have mine finished yet, and am a novice about what should go in one.
