What is a good pre-made first aid kids to buy ? Or a link to an easy to assemble one ? I am looking for something small to have in the range bag, or to take on day hikes. |
I'm partial to the USGI individual first aid kits. They turn up at gun shows, flea markets and Ebay . The most I've paid for an effectively complete one was $25.00. All I then add is some bigger band-aids and betadine wipes. |

I completely forgot about those folks. I had one of their smaller kits given to me. Not bad at all, and it fits in a coat pocket. I like having a rigid container, but that green boil is a lot more visible than a red nylon case. Their dental kit is worth looking at as well. Breaking a tooth or loosing a filling can be pretty damn unplesant. |
| +1 for the Adventure Medical Kits. I have one of their ultralight .5 kits in my GHB. The outer nylon bag had enough extra space for me to add chap-stick, iodine tablets, and a few hand-warmer packets with room to spare. However, I do not have a great deal of faith in the Aloksak waterproof bag. It seems like every other time I open the outer nylon bag, the Aloksak has opened while shifting around inside my pack. YMMV |
