anyone have any experience with these? I know that it takes 4 hours to completely work but im looking at them due to the light weight and reduce space in the BOB. anyone with experience with them please feel free to chime in!

When I'm thirsty, I don't want to have to wait 4 hours to get a drink of water.

And I definitely don't want to have to wait for my drinking water if I was bugging out.

And electronics can break easily, and batteries can go bad.  And the MIOX doesn't do anything about non-biological contaminants.

Here is a long discussion about the Miox, lots of good info:
stuff.silverorange.com/archives/2004/september/msrmioxpurifier

I have got a Miox, haven't really used it. I picked it up when someone on SF pointed out a sale. The active ingredient it produces is chlorine dioxide, which is the same active ingredient as the Micropur MP1 tablets. The tablets are initially cheaper and and simpler to use. However, I believe the tablets have a shorter shelf life than the CR123 batteries that the Miox uses, the chlorine dioxide the Miox produces is going to be more potent than the tablets because it is fresher (you are making it as you need it), large volumes of treated water will be cheaper with the Miox, and you have to be really careful storing the tablets because chlorine dioxide is a powerful oxidizer that has a lot of damage potential if it gets loose in your pack.

I think the Miox has potential as an ultralight treatment system in a BOB, or for treating large volumes of water without a lot of physical labor. For a weekend backpacking filter, I still use my MSR MiniWorks.

I love it the miox works great where you do not have to filter just purify. Most of our water where I am at is clear but if its not you can pour it thru a tshirt. Its rendered safe and sterile and you can virtually do it on the fly for as much water as you need to treat as opposed to stopping and pumping for ever with a bulky model. Not so good for tactical situations. More info MSR MIOX
