Ok i have be concidering this question but thought I would through this out there.

Would a surpluse Military CUCV Blazer with the old 6.2 desiel survive an EMP pulse? If I remember correctly these where all Mech injections systems with the starter and charging system being the only real electronics. Am I right on this

It's really hard to say one way or the other with the EMP thing.  It's been tested only a handful of times and sometimes the car works fine, others it doesn't.  There are a great many variables including the frequency of the EMP, the computer in the vehicle, distance from the EMP, etc...

You are correct on the the old CUCV, the GM diesels were machanical up to 1994 or 95.  The older .mil blazers didn't have a computer at all IIRC.

I have an 88 Blazer with a 6.2 in it, the computer controlled the torque converter clutch and the emission controls, neither of which will stop you if it doesn't work.  Be prepared to not be in a hurry, I think the .mil version of the 6.2 had about 120 HP.

Yeah I have always thought the mil Surp blazers and the CUCV pickups wear so cool. Heavy duty axles and flat drab paint SWEEET.

The M1009 CUCV Blazer had 3.73:1 gears I believe...my M1010 CUCV ambulance has 4.56:1 gears and weighs MUCH more so the Blazer would just blow by me going down the road.

i have always liked the CUCV pick ups. Those things are built like tanks, but with a family there just isnt enough room. The only down side the the CUCV blazer is I dont believe the axles are as stout. I think the are still half to axles. I have read reports of them geting like 26-28 MPG though as long as you are not in a hurry to get anywhere

Where is everyone finding the Blazers?  I've been looking around for an old diesel one and have had little luck in my area....

I now there were also civi versons availible but they where only 1/2 capacity. The Mil spec where 3/4 ton. As far as finding them I just searched the net under CUCV Found some pretty cool info but its limited.
