I have one of each of these bladders and I notice that the hydrastorm leaves a plastic taste in the water and the camelback doesn't.  Has anybody else had this happen?  I like the lid on the hydrastorm better because my water filter screws onto it, but I find myself not using it because of the nasty taste, and there is no cover for the bite valve.

Every Hyda Storm I was issued leaked like a siv. I only use Camelback if I have to use a bladder. The plastic taste is why I prefer my canteens. Also the bladder down my back makes my bags and vests uncomfortable.

I dont know if this affects your decision, but camelbaks are made in the USA! Last time I checked...blackhawk is made in southeast asia. I may be wrong on this, so check for your self.

Nothing better than ice cold water running down my back and into the crack of my A$$ from my hydrostorm.  Bottled water for me for now on, but my buddy swears by his Camelback.

Thanks, thats kind of what I was expecting.  I would not have purchaced the hydrastorm bladder seperately, but it came with a pack I got a really good deal on.

The lid on my hydrastorm has to be tightened really really hard in order not to leak. Like white knuckle tightened.

Get the Camelbak.
