Just tried to start my generator (storm coming) and found out that generators are just like any other engine in that they have trouble starting when bellow zero.

Once the generator was inside for a few hours and was warmed up took it back outside and  it started right up.

Using summer blend fuel? A shot of ether also usually gets them going quickly while cold.

I go straight to the ether when it comes time to fire up my tiller every year.  Generator doesn't need it, but I wouldn't be without it when the time comes.

Use synthetic oil and a shot of starting fluid.
